Journal Feature

Contract Guardian includes a feature called the Journal that tracks various automated functions from creating a contract to expiration notices that are sent to users. The journal feature allows users to view the audit stamps for these events in date order. Users can also add their own non-editable entries. Recent audits added include recording the original and new values of various fields on a contract. As an example, if a user changes the expiration date on a contract, both the original and new value are saved in the journal with the user who make the change, the date and time are also recorded.

As I explored dissertation structures—particularly how long should a literature review be in a 10,000-word project (generally between 2,000 and 2,500 words)—I came across this Journal feature. It’s remarkable how it promotes transparency and traceability. This got me thinking: might comparable audit-trail techniques be utilized in academic writing to monitor the development of arguments in literature reviews?

Features that highlight journal entries or personal reflections can offer an interesting glimpse into how people record their ideas and experiences. Journaling can help organize thoughts, track progress, and reflect on lessons learned over time. Whether used for personal growth or professional planning, keeping a written record can make it easier to recognize patterns and remember important details.
